On this warm evening in late August I had the opportunity to take engagement photos for my cousin JJ and his beautiful fiance Rebecca (Becca). Here by the Yuba river the high field grass had long since dried out, the heat of the day lingered the longest here, turning the grasses golden in the late afternoon sun. Further down, past the field, the river ran clear and cool, its banks lined with tall green foliage and large boulders of polished granite, still warm from the day. Both JJ and Becca love the outdoors so it seemed fitting to have engagement photos here. They spend their summers hunting, fishing, and enjoying the river close to their home. Becca is a wonderful cook and likes to entertain for her family and friends. Together they are loving dog parents, and they even brought along their dog Kona for the shoot. Kona was very photogenic and joined his mom and dad for a few photos. Anyone that knows these two know that they are both very warm and genuine people, together they have a wonderful connection, it’s such a joy to be in their company. I’m so excited to have been asked to photograph their upcoming wedding, and proud to call them family, I’m sure their wedding day will be beautiful. Congratulations you two!
